I Make Cigar Box Guitars

No Two The Same

Some Project Details

At the moment I'm working on combining two of the technologies that I've been exploring that I think will make my CBGs stand out and offer great customization options.

CBGs are great fun and I hear great music being played on them. And the variety of designs is staggering. That being the case, I’m working hard to make my offerings both great sounding and different. At the moment I’m working on combining two of the technologies that I’ve been exploring that I think will make my CBGs stand out and offer great customization options.

Fret markings – I’ve collected a bunch of fret marking designs including Jerry Garcia inspired, Moon Phases, Doves, and others. But even more important is that I can take your designs and put them on your fretboard. The markings are laser-burned.

Bottle inlays – I’m a bourbon drinker and I have collection of pretty amazing bottles (they used to contain some equally amazing bourbons). The ones I’m using are the ‘non-round’ type bottles. They are either flat on the front or at least have a nearly flat front. The fronts are perfect for inlaying into the front of the guitar, adding a nod to the bourbon and adding a different sound. And YES, I can use your bottle if it fits the requirements. You can send me the empty (though I’d be happy to accept a full bottle too) and I’ll handle the cutting and other details.

Pictures and examples will come soon. I’m excited to show what I’ve been working on and deliver your customized CBG.
